Business Week named New Rochelle "one of the best places to raise a family," and adds that the diversity in the schools is one of New
Rochelle's main attractions. New Rochelle high school has been ranked in the top 2 percent of high schools in the nation by Newsweek
magazine every year since 2000. New Rochelle's public schools have won national awards and have been a model of innovative educational
programs. In addition to the strong academics are many co- and extra-curricular programs. The city is also home to eight private schools
and three colleges. The children living at The Lofts at New Roc get to attend Trinity Elementary School, and gifted students can place into
Webster Elementary School. Plus, New Rochelle is one of the few school systems to have a public preschool (read: free). Monroe, Iona
and College of New Rochelle all have campuses in New Rochelle.
